QCD jets as branching processes with y-dependent elementary probabilities
Description
In this work the possibility to describe QCD jets as branching processes introducing Y-dependent elementary probabilities is examined. In this framework, the behaviour of sub(g,q)/sub(g,q) and Dsub(g,q)/sub(g,q) versus Y in physically significative cases is obtained. Usually, that behaviour depends on the functional form of elementary probabilities, but chosing these functions properly, one can rediscover the same results of the fixed cut-off treatment. (author)
