The Boltzmann equation and nucleus-nucleus collisions

Creators

Description

This paper concentrates on energies of the order of 100-1000 MeV/u bombarding energy per nucleon. This field is studied and the author shows how the Boltzmann equation can be applied. A number of generalizations are discussed which have to be incorporated in order to describe fully the physics. These involve the concept of a mean field and the effects of the hard-core nucleon-nucleon repulsion. The author discusses how to deal with quantum effects. This opens the way for future studies in the transition region 30-100 MeV/u bombarding energy
