High-resolution digital mammography utilizing charge-coupled device planar array
Description
Initial radiographic images and theory of operation are demonstrated for two different prototype high-resolution digital x-ray mammographic imaging systems that employ planar array charge-coupled device detectors. Both prototype imaging units have an ultimate resolution capability of ten line pairs per millimeter. Each system uses a standard 20-cm/sup 2/ mammographic intensifying screen as the input receptor. The preliminary images show excellent spatial and contrast resolution; there is also a potential for dose reduction
