Quasi-periodic variations of cosmic rays, solar and geomagnetic activities with periods near to the period of the solar rotation

Description

The linear nature of frequency power spectrum of galactic cosmic rays (GCR), solar activity (SA) and geomagnetic activity is studied using daily average data of Wolf numbers for the period from 1967 to 1984. The spectral analysis is performed using the data of Wolf numbers for the period of eight years starting from 1967 with one year shift. Tracing the dynamics of frequency spectrum of the Wolf numbers it is found that the linear nature reveals itself for those realizations whose medium involves the period of maxima of the 20th and 21st SA cycles, during SA minima this picture disappears. The linear nature of the frequency spectrum of daily average data of Wolf numbers proves that the active role in the process of solar spot formation should be played by global long waves of the Rossby wave type of tidal waves in the Sun
