Description

The finite elements method (FEM) was developed for solving the one-dimensional differential heat transfer equation. The method was applied for the characterization of the temperature field created in low carbon sheet steel during its surface laser treatment with Nd:Glass pulsed laser. The influences of the temperature dependencies of the material thermal properties, the convective and radiative heat transfer and the finite size of the treated object have been analyzed. (authors)
