Description

In order to examine the effects of ferritic steel on ripple reduction and plasma properties, an Advanced Material Tokamak Experiment (AMTEX) is carried out in JFT-2M. In the first phase of AMTEX, in order to test toroidal field ripple reduction, the ferritic sections are added between the non-magnetic material vacuum vessel (VV) and the toroidal field coil. In the second phase of AMTEX, the plasma properties of ferritic steel VV are tested after replacing VV with ferritic steel. (author)
