Simultaneous measurement of intensity and maximum energy of bremsstrahlung photon beam
Description
A new type ionization chamber has been constructed to measure an intensity and a maximum energy of a bremsstrahlung photon beam simultaneously. This chamber has many copper thin plates to produce an electron photon cascade shower by an incident photon beam and to collect an ionization current by the shower particle. The characteristics of this chamber are studied using the beam from the 1.3 GeV electron synchrotron at INS, University of Tokyo. The results are good agreement with the shower theory. (author)
