ESR-study of magnetic properties of Sm0.99Fe0.01B6

Description
Electron spin resonance (ESR) was studied in Kondo semiconductor SmB6 doped with 1 at% of Fe in the temperature range 1.6-300 Kelvin. The angular dependence of the resonance lines points to the existence of isotropic and axially deformed cubic Fe0 centers. Ferromagnetic ordering of iron ions is observed below the Curie point at 100 Kelvin, which can be attributed to indirect exchange of impurity ions via polarization of the matrix (a mechanism similar to that found in PdFe alloys)
