Seismic analysis of nuclear power plants - summary of 'state of the art' survey
Description
Both Japan and the United States are seismically active countries with well-established nuclear power industries. If New Zealand, similarly earthquake-prone, is to adopt nuclear power generation, the provision of adequate seismic resistance in the chosen reactor design, and the assurance that specified aseismic design criteria are met will be foremost considerations. This paper summarises a report prepared in the nuclear investigations section of the N.Z. Electricity Department dealing with current overseas practice in the seismic analysis of nuclear power installations. (auth.)
