Description

The Oxide Electrowinning method has being studied as one of candidate dry reprocessing concepts of future fuel cycle system. On the MOX co-deposition process, main process of that method, some fundamental experiments have been performed to confirm its feasibility. In the experiments, concentrations of uranium, plutonium, fission products (FP) simulators, and corrosion products (CP) simulators and blowing gas composition (O2, Cl2, Ar) are set as variable parameters to study the electrolysis condition to obtain required granule of MOX. Through the series experiments, it was clarified that the flow rate and partial pressure of chlorine gas during electrolysis were important parameters and the electrolysis conditions to obtain MOX granule with high Pu concentration (about 30%) without generating bottom precipitation in melt were confirmed.
