WWER-440 power peaking experiment at the LR-0 reactor. Feasibility calculations for the final core and pin selection

Description

The experimental program focusses on the performance of the modernized WWER-440 control assemblies with hafnium inserts. The report includes a summary of the final MCNP feasibility study calculations for the preparation of the experiment at the LR-0 reactor. The goal of these calculations was to assess the suitability of the selected core loading (r2) with profiled fuel assemblies with 3.3/3.0% enrichment for the measurements. A description of the core is given and the results of the criticality and subsequent pin-by-pin calculations are presented. Based on the calculations, six pins were preliminarily selected for the measurement. It is concluded that the r2 core configuration with 3.3/3.0% enrichment is suitable for the measurement
