Contribution to the phenomenological study of meson-baryon reactions at high energy
Description
The report is divided into two sections corresponding to the two approaches used in the study of 2-body reactions. Part one is devoted to the building of a new phenomenological model, calling on a wide range of theoretical concepts such as duality, quark diagrams, SU(3) symmetry etc... The model thus established is compared with experimental results and seems to resolve certain difficulties which other models cannot avoid. In part two the approach adopted is more typically phenomenological, involving analyses in amplitudes which amounts to the consultation of experience, avoiding, as far as possible, the use of over-specific theoretical concepts. The various results obtained certain regularities in the amplitudes, evidence of underlaying physical laws as yet little understood. From this study an empirical relationship is proposed for two-body scattering amplitudes. This relationship, which considerably simplifies the formulation of phenomenological models, has already been used successfully to study certain processes. The results of these two approaches are shown to agree, which points up the relevance of the physical images used and helps in the understanding of high-energy hadron interactions

L'expose comprend deux parties, correspondant aux deux approches utilisees dans l'etude des reactions a 2 corps. La premiere partie est consacree a l'elaboration d'un nouveau modele phenomenologique. Dans cette construction, on a fait appel a un large eventail de concepts theoriques, tels la dualite, les diagrammes de quarks, la symetrie SU(3) etc... Le modele ainsi elabore est confronte aux resultats experimentaux et parait resoudre certaines difficultes que d'autres modeles ne peuvent eviter. Dans la seconde partie l'approche adoptee est plus typiquement phenomenologique. En effet, elle est consacree a des analyses en amplitudes, c'est-a-dire que l'on interroge l'experience, en evitant, autant que possible, de faire appel a des concepts theoriques par trop particuliers. Les divers resultats obtenus permettant de percevoir certaines regularites dans les amplitudes, qui sont la manifestation de lois physiques sous-jacentes encore mal comprises. Cette etude a permis de proposer une systematique pour les amplitudes de diffusion a deux corps. Cette systematique qui simplifie considerablement la formulation des modeles phenomenologiques a deja ete utilisee pour etudier certains processus avec succes. On montre que ces deux points de vue conduisent a des resultats concordants, ce qui est un indice de la pertinence des images physiques utilisees et permet d'aller plus avant dans la comprehension des interactions hadroniques a haute energieFiles
