Divertor pumping system of ASDEX
Description
For the divertor pumps in ASDEX speeds for H2 of several 106 l/sec are required. Initially two alternative concepts were persued: volume getter pumps based on ST101 and Ti sublimation pumps with cryogenic surfaces. Though both concepts turned out to be feasible, preference was finally given to Ti sublimation pumping, because its efficiency is less dependent on the plasma conditions in the divertor. For this reason the following paper renders a more detailed description for the Ti sublimation pumps only. (orig.)

Die Divertor-Pumpen des ASDEX erfordern H2-Geschwindigkeiten von einigen 106 l/sec. Urspruenglich waren zwei Alternativkonzepte vorgesehen: Volumengetterpumpen auf der Basis von ST101 und Ti-Sublimationspumpen mit gekuehlten Oberflaechen. Obwohl sich beide Moeglichkeiten als durchfuehrbar herausstellten, wurde am Ende den Ti-Sublimationspumpen, wegen der geringen Abhaengigkeit ihrer Leistungsfaehigkeit von den Plasmabedingungen im Divertor, der Vorzug gegeben. Deshalb beinhaltet die folgende Arbeit nur fuer Ti-Sublimationspumpen eine detailierte Beschreibung. (orig.)Additional details
