Description
The ADI method is applied to obtain numerical solution of transient MHD flow through a rectangular channel, under a uniform transverse magnetic field. The velocity, induced magnetic field and flux through the section have been worked out numerically at different time levels for a given Hartmann number and magnetic Prandtl number. It is found that transient flow is not symmetrical as in the case of a fully developed flow. The time for steadiness is determined approximately. 7 figures. (author)
