A brief summary is given on the IAEA Technical Assistance Programme under which the IAEA contributes to the transfer of nuclear technology to its Member States. The amount of technical assistance provided per year (from all sources of funds) during 1969-1978 is graphically illustrated. Expenditure during the five-year periods 1969-1973 and 1974-1978 amounted to US$23.8 million and $45.6 million, respectively (compared to that of US$14.5 million provided during 1964-1968). The distribution of technical assistance resources among the different regions during the period 1969-1978 is presented, the share between the IAEA and UNDP being 65.3% and 34.7%, respectively.
