Stent placement in stenotic and thrombotic segments in some vascular regions
Creators
Description
Full text: We present our experience with 120 implanted stents in stenotic and thrombotic arterial segments in patients between 46 - 72 years. The stenosis decreases the vascular lumen with 40% - 90% and they are with length between 2 and 4 cm.Thrombotic segments are with length between 1- 6 cm. We use balloon expandable and self expandable stents for legs, bifurcation of the aorta and a. mesenteric superior. Technical success is achieved in all patients, including 8 patients with stenosis in distal femoro - popliteal anastomoses of bypass reconstructions. Clinical and angiographic studies showed very good results except in 7 patients. Positive results and absence of serious complications and reconstruction of the lumen in arterial segments with restenoses after PTA suggest that the method is efficient and safe in treatment of atherosclerotic stenosis and thrombotic segments
