Modifying the structure and phase composition of steel Kh18N10T with pulsed current

Description

With the use of light and electron microscopical methods an analysis is made into reasons for variations in grain structure, dislocation substructure twinning and carbide formation in steel Kh18N10T subjected to low-cycle fatigue loading under pulsed electric current effects. The electric stimulation is concluded to affect steel structure and phase composition in a similar manner as a heating. Electric current pulses result in an increase of average size and volume share of carbide particles occurred due to preliminary thermomechanical treatment. In addition, new centres of carbide formation in a form of vacancy complexes and clusters enriched with alloying elements become valid
