Tribological behaviour of nitrogen implanted chromium steels
Creators
- 1. Moskovskij Aviatsionnyj Inst., Moscow (Russian Federation)
Description
By means of the 2168 UMT universal friction machine were carried out wear tests of the 30Ch13 chromium steel. Argon implantation does not influence practically the wear resistance. Nitrogen implantation increases the wear resistance 2-2,5 times. The depth in which is observed the effect of wear resistance increase exceeds some dozens times the depth at which the nitrogen ions may be implanted. A possible mechanism of the phenomenon is proposed
