Serum triiodothyronine radioimmunoassay in 48 euthyroid Zairian subjects

Serum triiodothyronine radioimmunoassay was carried out in 48 euthyroid Zairian subjects, whose ages ranged from 5 to 63 years. The results showed a mean value of T3 in normal limits reported by other authors in various countries. There was no correlation between age, sex and T3 individual values in this series. From this preliminary study, it is concluded that T3 radioimmunoassay should be considered as accurate and alternative test for the assessment of thyroid function in Zairian people. (author)
