Description
The influence of precipitation pH, nature of initial zirconium salt, and ionic medium on the sorption properties of gelatineous zirconium oxyhydroxides (zirconogels), obtained by alkali hydrolysis of zirconium (4) sulfate and zirconyl nitrate in solutions, have been investigated. Methods of zero point of charge, heterogeneous indicator reactions of hydrolysis, drop titration and thermal analysis were used. The behaviour of the zirconogel was found to be similar to those of the ferro- and titanogels obtained under analogous conditions. The composition of the zirconogel, the activation energy of heterogeneous indicator reactions of hydrolysis, and the dependence of the rate constants of the these reactions on the ionic medium and concentration are determined. 11 refs.; 4 figs.; 5 tabs
