Base of theory, design and operation of space nuclear power facilities
Description
Consideration is being given to the problems of theory and design of various types of space nuclear power facilities, including nuclear reactors, representing energy sources, and thermal converters, such as gas turbine and steam turbine plants, thermoelectric and thermoemission converters. Problems of afterheat removal were considered as well. Coolers-radiators on the base of thermal tubes are applied for this purpose. Problems of strength analysis of structural elements, design of radiation protection and principles of operation of space nuclear power facilities are considered in detail
