Signals emulator equipment design for RA-10 reactor protection system verification process

  • 1. Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica (CNEA), Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Description

For the V&V process related to the licensing of a new RPS design, there was a need to develop a signal emulator equipment. This equipment will be use in the functional, EMI and environmental tests of all individual units and electrical cabinets used in RA-10 RPS project. The Signal Emulator primary goal is to generate input signals to the RPS and then receive the outputs of it to compare the result with expected values. If the result do not match, the unit under test(UUT) will not pass the verification process and come back to the design stage. The hardware to achieve the test requirements consists of three different 19-inch subracks. The hardware for these modules is the same that the ones designed for RPS, but with an unlike functionality. This decreases the times of the hardware development stage. (author)
