Shear and well stabilization in a hard-core theta pinch with poloidal field coils
- 1. Gunma Univ., Kiryu (Japan). Faculty of Technology
Description
Experimental results obtained in a device having short hard-core theta pinch with poloidal field coils are described. Some instabilities, which seem to be the flute type, were observed. Those instabilities were suppressed by increasing the shear field and the magnetic well, which were produced by the hard-core and the poloidal field coils, respectively.
