Polarization analysability of p+12C and p+28Si elastic scattering below 4 MeV
Description
The polarization analyzabilities of p+12C and p+28Si elastic scattering are compared by means of contour diagrams of A(theta,E)σsub(0)sup(1/2)(theta,E) for 1.5 to 4 MeV proton energies. Analyzing powers A and cross sections σ0 were calculated in terms of the R-matrix parametrization of partial wave phase shifts. A polarimeter using a silicon target as the analyzer proved to be an efficient tool for proton polarization measurements below 4 MeV. (author)
