Creep mechanisms in metals under irradiation
Description
Nonlinear dependence of irradiated metal deformation rate on temperature is explained within the framework of theoretical creep models. It is noted that at different temperatures and tensions various mechanisms of dislocation motion take place: creeping over due to absorption of interstitial atoms and thermoactivation mechanism. Diagram of creep mechanisms has been constructed. This diagram shows a boundary separating deformation and temperature value regions where creep rate is controlled with one or another mechanism
