Description
We have investigated electronic structure of Li2X (X= O, S, Se, Te) compounds by using self- consistent tight binding linear muffin tin orbital method at ambient pressure. These compounds show insulating behaviour under ambient conditions. Li2O shows more insulating behaviour as compared to other members. A direct band gap of 5.75 eV in Li2O and indirect band gap of 2.20 eV have been observed in Li2 Te. (author)
