Description

Full text: Binding responsibility for the radioactive waste, until it has decayed - that is the aim for which the Romanian Government has created ANDRAD, the National Agency for Radioactive Waste. By the establishment of this organization, Romania meets the requirements of the 'Joint Convention on Safety of Spent Nuclear Fuel Management and Safety of Radioactive Waste Management' and of the 'European Council Conclusions on Nuclear Safety'. The main objective of ANDRAD is the safe management of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste, including disposal, under conditions that ensure the nuclear security and the protection against ionizing radiations of the staff professionally exposed, of the population, environment and property, at present and in the future, without compromising the needs of the next generations.
