Discrete symmetries in SO(N) grand unified groups and the survival hypothesis
Description
The possibility of introducing the discrete symmetry D is studied which along with SUsup(c)(3)xSUsub(L)(2)xU(1) syImetry remains after the breaking SO(N) grand unified symmetry group by the Higgs fields vacuum expectation values of the order 1015 GeV. The quantum number corresponding to this symmetry distinguishes the fermions coupled with W-bosons via left and right currents. As a result the presence of low-mass fermions in the thoery is provided
