Disorder and correlations in molecular and liquid crystals
Description
Examples are given of the study of static and dynamic aspects of disorder and related phase transitions in two types of system using a variety of neutron scattering techniques. The first is an order-disorder transition in (CH3)3CCN and the second is the study of the modulated hexagonal B phase of the liquid crystal C5H11OC6H4CHNC6H4C7H15 and its relation to the monoclinic G phase.
