High energy muon scattering at Fermilab

Description

Two muon experiments are reported: one is a test of Bjorken scaling with an iron target, finding scale noninvariance, and the other is a study of muon scattering from a liquid hydrogen/deuterium target, measuring inclusive cross sections, structure functions and various distributions. The results from these experiments are presented in turn after a brief description of the muon beam. Also a result from a lower energy experiment performed at Serpukhov on the study of parity-violating effects in deep inelastic μN scattering is reported, with results on the asymmetry and coupling constant
