Safety Approaches for the CMSR Power Barge

  • 1. Seaborg Technologies ApS, Copenhagen (Denmark)

Description

The Compact Molten Salt Reactor (CMSR), being developed by Seaborg Technologies, is a small modular reactor (SMR) characterized by a core in which the fuel is in a molten state dissolved in fluoride salts. The CMSR is integrated into a floating non-self-propelled barge. The paper describes the nuclear safety approaches applied at Seaborg Technologies to classify structures, systems, and components and to identify postulated initiating events for the CMSR Power Barge.
