Description

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of interventional mechanical thrombectomy procedure in the treatment of acute massive pulmonary infarction. Methods: Fifteen patients of acute massive pulmonary infarction were treated with interventional thrombectomy device. The clinical symptoms, mean pulmonary arterial pressure, partial arterial oxygen pressure and pulmonary arterial recanalization were observed before and after the procedure. Results: The evaluation of effectiveness were shown remarkably in 11 cases, improvement in 3 and none in 1; with partial arterial oxygen pressure significantly increased (60.6±7.8 mmHg vs 91.0 ± 7.7 mmHg, P=0.000) and mean pulmonary arterial pressure significantly decreased (39.7 ± 10.8 mmHg vs 27.3 ± 7.9 mmHg, P=0.000) before and after the procedure respectively. Conclusions: The interventional mechanical thrombectomy procedure for acute massive pulmonary infarction is feasible, effective and safe. (authors)
