Ion mobility along superfluid vortices with polar cores in 3He-A

Description
The ion-mobility tensor first calculated here for the polar phase may explain the high drift velocity observed for negative ions in 3He-A during rotation. It is thus suggested that the ion mobility gauges the superfluid pairing amplitude and provides a local probe for the magnitude of the energy gap right on the vortex axis. (author)
