Description
A large variety of hard coatings can be produced by deposition technique - physical and chemical vapour deposition in vacuum. Some of the most commonly used hard coatings are nitrides, carbides and oxides. The criteria for selecting a particular coatings depend on substrate to be used and actual application. In this work we investigated the dc-sputtered TiN layers grown on stainless steel substrate using the X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning probe microscopy-atomic force microscopy (AFM). (author)
