Stimulation of seismic waves by underwater explosions

Description

Theoretical investigations of the source signal of underwater explosions and the comparison with measurements made are dealt with in this work. A FORTRAN programme for the numerical calculation of the volume of the explosion gases as a function of time, load and water depth is described. For seismic purposes, the second derivative of the volume with respect to time is approximated by a simple impulse series. Thus a closed formula can be given for the FOURIER spectrum of the source signal. (GG/LH)

Abstract (German)

Theoretische Untersuchungen des Quellensignals von Unterwasserexplosionen und der Vergleich mit durchgefuehrten Messungen sind Gegenstand der Arbeit. Ein FORTRAN-Programm fuer die numerische Berechnung des Volumens der Explosionsgase als Funktion der Zeit, Ladung und Wassertiefe wird beschrieben. Fuer seismische Zwecke wird die zweite Ableitung des Volumens nach der Zeit durch eine einfache Impulsfolge angenaehert. Damit laesst sich fuer das FOURIER-Spektrum des Quellensignals eine geschlossene Formel angeben. (GG)
