The radiology of tropical diseases. X-ray diagnoses in the Third World

Collected, evaluated and surveyed were X-ray findings for: 1. diseases not encountered in our latitudes; 2. diseases that are encountered but seen at other places to occur to an extent only very occasionally observed in our regions; 3. changes observed subsequent to treatments uncommon here that were, however, inevitable in the circumstances and had to be performed at the scene of the incident. The first group comprises diseases prevailing in the tropics and therefore generally known as ''tropical diseases''. The appropriate X-ray findings are surveyed in the book. More recently developed methods like ultrasonic procedures, computerized tomography and nmr imaging are taken account of. The third group is that of X-ray findings revealed after treatments uncommon here that were, however, inevitable in the circumstances and had to be performed at the scene of the incident. (orig.)
