How quality results were achieved during construction and testing in Atomic Energy of Canada's underground research laboratory
Description
This paper discusses the extension and geotechnical characterization and testing within a 443-meter deep shaft in eastern Manitoba's Canadian Shield. Although no formal, United States-approved Quality Assurance (QA) was implemented during the construction, characterization and testing, quality results were obtained. The author describes a disciplined management system developed to control the project. This paper cites how certain quality results were obtained through the use of appropriate procedures
