Calculating the true volume steam content in a fuel cassette
Creators
Description
The true volume steam content in a fuel cassette is calculated for stationary cassette operating conditions and for characteristic heat-emission-over-height profiles. The reliable operation of a natural-circulation loop having fuel cassettes on the uptake section and heat-exchanging surfaces on the downcoming section depends to a great degree on the proper calculation of the true volume steam content over the height of the fuel cassettes. When calculating this value in fuel cassettes, one should bear in mind the dependence of this parameter on the cassette geometry. At the same time, the published methods for pipes, recommended by these authors for calculating true volume steam content in fuel rod assemblies, do not take this influence into account
