Description

Steady state and transient measurements made on a forced recirculation boiler steam drum are described, and conclusions are drawn concerning the steady state water subcooling and the dynamic behaviour of the water and steam phases during transients. Attempts at parameter identification using a linearised model set up on an analogue computer are described, and it is concluded that an asymmetric model is required to adequately describe both increasing and decreasing pressure effects. Further dynamic experiments are suggested using more refined measurement techniques. (author)
