Neutron emission parameters in plasma focus devices

  • 1. Stuttgart Univ. (TH) (Germany, F.R.). Inst. fuer Plasmaforschung

Description

Subject of part A of this paper are results of experiments and theoretical studies aimed at improving the neutron yield from plasma focus devices and searching for correlations between neutron yield and various plasma parameters. In part B the neutron production is studied with superimposed axial magnetic field. There are typically two temporal phases of neutron emission, which are differently affected by the magnetic field, but neither the beam-target nor the moving-boiler model can explain the neutron emission alone.
