Electron spin polarization acquired by swift light ions moving inside a polarized ferromagnet
Description
Energetic ions moving inside a polarized ferromagnet acquire substantial amount of electron spin polarization in their bound shells. Some of the salient features of this polarization transfer which have been established experimentally are presented. Theoretical attempts to understand these features are also discussed. (author)
