Advances in biological dosimetry and their application during radiological emergencies
Description
Chromosome aberration analysis in peripheral blood lymphocytes is the most sensitive technique to estimate individual doses in accidental radiation exposures as it has been demonstrated for several radiation accidents, dicentrics chromosomes analysis is widely used routinely in radiological protection. Nevertheless, this methodology has some limitations, to overcome them further investigations are needed using new biological indicators of radiation. Current status of biological dosimetry is evaluated in this report. (Author)
