Reflection of hydrogen from stainless steel for non-normal incidence

Description
The reflection from a stainless steel sample was investigated for 5 keV hydrogen impinging at an angle of 450 to the surface normal. To scan the whole half-space above the target surface for reflected particles the scattering angle was varied and the target was turned around the beam axis. Energy distributions of reflected positive and negative ions and of neutrals were measured for each angular position and the three spectra were added to achieve spectra of all reflected particles. Energy and angular distributions and the particle reflection coefficient are presented. The experimental data are compared with the results of the TRIM computer simulation. (orig.)
