Radioactive contaminations of the area and environs of the Institute of Nuclear Research-Zeran in 1971-1972

This paper reports the investigation results of the radioactive contamination level of natural environment in the vicinity of the Nuclear Institute, Zeran, in 1971-1972. Mainly, attention was paid to the radioactive contamination of fallout, river and pipe water, soil, grass and corn. It was observed, that the radioactive contaminations in the region of the Institute are due to the post nuclear explosion fallout, as well as, natural radionuclides. No significant influence of the work of the Institute on the radioactivity of the natural environment elements was observed. (author)
