Specifics on interaction of saturated solution - melt with substrate in Pb - Sn - Te - Se system

Description
A number of experiments on the epitaxial grow of Pb1-ySnyTe layers, as well as on the study of substrate interaction with the saturated melt solution in the Pb-Sn-Te system are carried out. The application of the thermodynamic substrate stability criterion contacting with nonequilibrium melt in the Pb-Sn-Te-Se system is proved. It is shown the substrate is stable if it contains more Sn than the layer growing on it. Within the framework of the thermodynamic approach the temperature concentration dependence of the nature of the process of substrate growth from PbTe in the Pb-Sn-Te solution-melt is explained. The role of kinetic phenomena here is, evidently, insignificant
