Description

We examined 3530 patients from January 1995 to February 1996. 13 of these patients had findings of phyllodes tumor in mammographic and ultrasound images. All patients were examined by mammography, ultrasound (probe small parts 7.5 MHz and Doppler), aspiration cytology and underwent a surgical treatment. Rang of age was from 23 to 76 years and size of tumors was from 3 to 10 cm. 9 from the 13 tumors were were benign. 3 tumors potentially malignant and one was unambiguously malignant. Very important sign of borderline or malignancy are in X-ray image: focal area of skin thickening, unsharp of the posterior border or spiculated sharps, inhomogeneity, calcifications. Mammographic and ultrasound examination and results of phyllodes tumor of the breast were equal to findings of aspiration cytology. (author)
