Description

This paper will try to discuss the influence of data of various kind on the quality of risk analyses. In this discussion risk analysis for nuclear power plants will take a considerable part because up to now nuclear power plants are the favorite object of risk analyses. In the first part of the paper, the idea and purpose of risk analyses will be discussed. Then, a survey will be given on some kind of data needed to perform risk analyses, and on the availability of such data. Finally the influence of data on the quality of risk analyses and consequences for the use of risk analyses will be addressed. (orig./DG)
