X-ray diffraction studies of Ru:Mn alumina, silica supported bimetallic system

Description
Ru:Mn alumina and silica supported bimetallic system was prepared by co-impregnation method nd characterised using X-Ray diffraction technique. On the basis of experimental data the intensity lines corresponding to Ru, RuO with Mn occurring in the form of very small particles (which is beyond the detection limit of the instrument) were observed. The shift in the angle of diffraction and the change in the intensity of the Ru peaks on both the supported samples indicates the presence of Ru:Mn bimetallics. The systematic increase in the dispersion of Ru on both the supports is discussed in terms of modification of surface morphology by the addition of Mn. (author)
