Production and study of electric absorption of GaTe single crystals

Description
Spectrum of electric absorption of GeTe single crystals has been obtained experimentally. The availability of the spectrum itself points to the complexity of zone structure of the compound. It is concluded from the analysis results that the first and the second negative peaks (1.761 and 1776 eV) in the spectrum at 77 K are connected with exciton levels of n=1 and 2, the third negative peak (1.781 eV) being connected with the zone-zone transition
