Electroluminescent position sensitive detector

Description

Electroluminescence track detectors on the basis of proportional chamber, fulfilled by the mixture of Ne (at pressure 1 atm ) + 3m Hg ethyl alcohol are investigated. The passing particle coordinate is defined from relation of signal amplitudes from two photomultipliers (PMP) arranged on the opposite ends of a chamber. The contribution estimates of different errors into coordinate resolution are given. The instabilities of amplitude converter characteristics, PM gain and high voltage supply instabilities, experimental errors are taking into account. The coordinate resolution 0.21+-0.013 mm along anod wires was obtained at 100 mm distance between PM photocathodes
